An aerial view of section of a floor mosaic which first spotted 11 years ago during sewer construction, has been fully uncovered following archaeological excavations launched this year in Iznik district of Bursa, Turkiye on November 18, 2025. The mosaic features several detailed depictions, including a woman holding a basket of fruit, a female face representing Lake İznik adorned with hairpins shaped like crab claws, along with various other figures and intricate geometric and three-dimensional patterns.Archaeologists in northwestern Türkiye have fully revealed a stunning 3rd-century floor mosaic in Iznik, featuring intricate depictions including a personification of Lake İznik. The discovery, first spotted over a decade ago, provides new insights into the region's rich Roman-era artistic heritage.
