Turkish authorities have recovered the remains of all 20 personnel who died in Tuesday's C-130 military aircraft crash near the Georgia-Azerbaijan border. The Defense Ministry confirmed the completion of recovery operations at the crash site.

Turkish defense officials have confirmed the recovery of all 20 military personnel who perished in this week's C-130 transport aircraft crash near the Azerbaijan-Georgia border. The National Defense Ministry announced Thursday that the final victim had been located at the crash site, concluding the intensive search and recovery operation that began immediately after Tuesday's aviation disaster.

Completion of Recovery Efforts

In an official statement, the ministry reported that "the sacred body of our 20th martyr has been reached" through persistent search efforts in the wreckage area. The announcement brings a measure of closure to the recovery phase of the operation, allowing authorities to focus on the investigation into the cause of the crash and the return of the victims to their families.

Crash Details and International Response

The military transport plane went down on Tuesday during a flight originating from Azerbaijan, carrying 20 personnel including flight crew members. The incident has prompted expressions of condolence from multiple nations, with regional leaders including the presidents of Georgia and Azerbaijan offering sympathy and support to Türkiye following the tragic loss of military personnel.

Ongoing Investigation

With recovery operations complete, attention now turns to the official investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. Turkish aviation authorities are expected to work with international counterparts to determine the cause of the accident, which represents one of the most significant losses of Turkish military personnel in an aviation incident in recent years.
