Hundreds protest in Sweden against Israeli attacks on Gaza

Hundreds of demonstrators converged on Stockholm's Odenplan Square on Saturday to protest Israel's ongoing military operations in the Gaza Strip, accusing Israeli forces of violating the October 10 ceasefire agreement and blocking humanitarian aid deliveries to the besieged enclave.

The protesters, responding to calls from civil society organizations, waved Palestinian flags and chanted slogans denouncing Israeli military actions while demanding an immediate end to the blockade on Gaza. They also accused Israel of breaching the truce reached on October 10, 2025, and restricting humanitarian assistance into the coastal territory, according to Anadolu Agency.

Activist warns on peace without justice

Dror Feiler, chair of European Jews for a Just Peace, addressed the crowd and dismissed accusations that the demonstrations harbored antisemitic motives. "A peace achieved without justice is not real peace and will ultimately lead to another war," the Swedish Jewish activist told Anadolu, arguing that protesters opposed oppression regardless of who perpetrates it. He accused the international community of turning a blind eye to alleged crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Rejection of antisemitism accusations

Feiler also criticized what he described as the collapse of the international legal framework established after World War II, claiming powerful actors apply rules selectively to serve their own interests. "Criticizing the Israeli government or Zionism ... does not make someone antisemitic," he said, adding that the demonstrators stood for Palestinian rights, justice and equality.
