Israeli strike hits Iranian petrochemical complex, official says

Valiollah Hayati says Israeli aircraft struck the Karun Mahshahr Petrochemical Company on Monday, damaging part of the industrial complex while confirming no casualties had been reported.
Valiollah Hayati, deputy governor for security affairs in Iran's Khuzestan province, said on Monday that Israeli aircraft struck the Karun Mahshahr Petrochemical Company in the southwestern city of Mahshahr, damaging part of the industrial complex. Speaking to reporters, Hayati stated that "the Zionist enemy" carried out the strike minutes earlier, hitting the facility with projectiles that caused partial destruction to the site.
Casualty assessment
Hayati told local media that no casualties or injuries had been confirmed in the attack, adding that authorities would release further details on the extent of damage following technical inspections. The official noted that projectiles hit the industrial complex earlier in the day, though rescue teams had not reported any victims at the time of his statement and operations continued in unaffected sections of the plant.
Regional hostilities
The strike marks the latest in a series of exchanges between Israel and Iran as hostilities continue across the Middle East. Israeli forces have conducted multiple strikes inside Iran in recent months, targeting military installations and energy facilities while tensions remain high between the two adversaries.
