Can they save Netanyahu?

In 2024, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an "arrest warrant" against the genocidal Benjamin Netanyahu on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity. That warrant is still valid. 124 states, including the 27 members of the European Union that are party to the ICC, are obligated to surrender to the court any individuals against whom arrest warrants have been issued if they enter their countries.

Since there is no "statute of limitations," Netanyahu cannot escape prosecution as long as he lives. The label will always hang around his neck. For EU leaders, whether their countries are party to the ICC or not, even shaking hands with Netanyahu in any country would be like holding a hot chestnut.

On the other hand, if Netanyahu falls from power, it is widely considered certain that he will go to prison over the corruption cases against him. If he has avoided prison so far, things will take a serious turn for Netanyahu if he loses the October elections. The number of countries he can seek refuge in, other than the US, is very few. How far the US will protect and shield Netanyahu is unknown.

As can be seen from the examples of the Iranian Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi and the Philippine dictator Ferdinand Marcos, Americans are known for abandoning low-level tyrants, even if they were their most loyal allies. Let us recall that the deposed Shah was shuffled from country to country like a pariah after his escape.

Netanyahu, who is playing extra time, is the kind of person who would do anything to stay in power. A constant state of war has been a tool for Netanyahu to remain in power. Fully aware of his fate, Netanyahu is now picking a fight with Türkiye to prolong his rule.

US President Trump, who has been unable to rein in Netanyahu—who has disrupted his plans—has repeatedly asked Israeli President Isaac Herzog to issue a pardon for Netanyahu. Trump is aware that he cannot get rid of Netanyahu any other way. Herzog has so far not given a positive response to Trump's persistent calls for a pardon. For Herzog to issue a pardon decision, Netanyahu must first be tried and found guilty. Netanyahu, however, is not sure that Herzog will issue a pardon.

Trump is also working hard to save Netanyahu from the hands of the ICC. The US is not a party to the ICC, but Joe Biden, during his term, stated in an announcement that the US supported the ICC's attempt to try Russian leader Vladimir Putin, and even said that the US would cooperate with the ICC. Trump, on the other hand, has been working to completely eliminate the ICC since his first term. Trump even imposed sanctions on ICC members.

Last August, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that sanctions had also been imposed on ICC President Tomoko Akane and Senior Trial Lawyer Abdoulaye Seye. The sanctions, which include travel bans, asset freezes, and restrictions on doing business with US citizens, are part of a campaign against the ICC. According to Rubio, the crime of Akane and Seye is their direct participation in efforts to investigate, arrest, detain, or prosecute officials of countries that do not recognize the ICC's jurisdiction.

In July, the US State Department also announced that it aimed to "dismantle" the ICC using "all available tools." These tools include "persuading" other countries to leave the ICC, travel bans against ICC-affiliated officials, and additional sanctions to weaken the court. In this regard, the announcement by Venezuela's new administration—whose president and his wife were abducted by US military operation—that it would withdraw from the ICC is a noteworthy development.

Trump said of the campaign against the ICC: "[Rubio] is not trying to defend me. He is trying to defend Bibi and various other people." Pro-Israel hawks in the US Congress, in order to conceal that their real aim is to protect Israel and the Zionist genociders, claim that the ICC is waiting in line to try Americans.

Trump, who has not only gone to war with Iran to save Netanyahu, whom he calls "Bibi," but is also trying to eliminate the ICC, is the subject of curiosity about the motivation behind his strange "Bibi obsession." I also don't think Trump will shed tears if Netanyahu loses the elections. On the contrary, Trump will breathe a deep sigh of relief. One of Trump's best-known traits is that he quickly loses interest in "losers."

Netanyahu and his Zionist gang have been registered as "genocidal killers" in the court of humanity. No matter who stands behind him, Netanyahu will not be able to remove this label from his neck. The curse of tens of thousands of Palestinian children will not remain unavenged, and justice will prevail sooner or later.
