A funeral ceremony was attended by top military officials and loved ones of the four pilots who were killed when their military planes crashed, in the central province of Malatya’s Akçadağ district
The four pilots, who were flying the two Turkish military F-4 planes that crashed during a training exercise on Tuesday, Feb. 24, were commemorated at a funeral service in the central Turkish province of Malatya, the area of the crash. The four pilots, Salih Sezer, Osman Onur Özkaya, Zeynel Özgür Özbahçeci and Yasin Atalay, lost their lives during the crashes.
A funeral ceremony had a large participation.
Chief of General Staff Gen. Necdet Özel, Air Forces Commander Gen. Akın Öztürk and Defense Minister İsmet Yılmaz were among the participants.
Loved ones of the pilots burst into tears during the ceremony. After the event, the bodies of the pilots were sent to their hometowns.
