‘Hollywood scenes’ from dam construction

Moments that machines were carried in air created scenes such as from a Hollywood movie, during construction of Yusufeli Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant of Turkey
The machines were transported with the aid of cranes in the air during the construction of the Yusufeli Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant.
The machines' transport was widely shared on social media.
Some of the users commented that the process reminded them of science fiction movies, while many of them wrote, 'The Turks are constructing a dam from air.'
Yusufeli Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant is planned to be built on the Chorakhi (Çoruh) river located in the eastern Black Sea region, one of the least developed parts of Turkey.
The main purpose of the project is to generate electric power. The power plant with a capacity of 540 MW is expected to produce 1,705 GWh of power yearly.
The dam will also regulate the flow of the river and make downstream water-based development projects viable and economical. The project will contribute to the economic and social development of the region.
