Roketsan and Aselsan on Monday welcomed NATO defense industry agreements covering strategic capability areas signed at the alliance's forum in Ankara, with both Turkish firms pledging advanced technologies to strengthen collective deterrence. The agreements encompass strike capabilities, integrated air and missile defense systems, space and surveillance assets, critical raw materials procurement, and unmanned aerial vehicle superiority initiatives.
Turkish Industry Commitment
Roketsan CEO Murat İkinci attended the signing ceremony for the pacts, confirming the company's role as a contractor across multiple project streams. İkinci stated that Roketsan would continue contributing to cooperation aimed at strengthening Türkiye's and NATO's common defense capabilities through advanced technologies and deterrent systems.
"With our advanced technologies and our series production capacity, which increases day by day, we continue to contribute to the security of our alliance as much as that of our country," Aselsan CEO Ahmet Akyol said, emphasizing the dual commitment to national and collective defense priorities.
Alliance Deterrence Architecture
Haluk Görgün, head of Türkiye's Defense Industries Secretariat, stated that the projects would involve Aselsan, Roketsan, STM and the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK). "These projects, which will include Aselsan, Roketsan, STM and the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TUBITAK), will form the backbone of the alliance's deterrence architecture in the coming years," Görgün said.
