Bahrain sirens sound as Iran strikes US, Amazon

Iran claims strikes on US infrastructure

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stated that it had destroyed central data infrastructure belonging to the US company Amazon in Bahrain with several cruise missiles. The Iranian army added that it had targeted the US-operated Sheikh Isa Air Base with drones, according to statements issued early Tuesday.

Escalation defies Pakistan-brokered truce

The United States has escalated attacks against Iran since last week, prompting retaliatory strikes against facilities and bases Tehran says are used by the American military across the region. The latest exchange comes despite a memorandum of understanding signed in June under Pakistan's mediation, which had aimed to end the war and secure a lasting peace agreement between Washington and Tehran.

Bahrain's military command reported that its air defense batteries destroyed several incoming Iranian aerial projectiles before they reached their targets, adding that no casualties or material damage had occurred on the ground.
