Blaze kills 30 at packed Bangkok restaurant: Report

At least 30 people were killed when a blaze tore through a packed restaurant in Bangkok's Chatuchak district during the early hours of Sunday, according to local media reports. The fire erupted at Rong Beer Na Ladprao, a beer house located in the Ladprao area, as patrons filled the venue around midnight local time.

Public broadcaster Thai PBS reported that rescue teams rushed to the scene as flames engulfed the building. Emergency crews worked to evacuate survivors from the structure amid chaotic scenes described by witnesses.

Victims trapped as investigation begins

Rescue personnel have identified 17 women and eight men among the deceased, while the identities of the remaining victims have yet to be confirmed. Most of the dead were discovered trapped inside the restaurant's restrooms, rescue officials said.

Firefighters and rescue workers transported injured survivors to nearby hospitals for treatment, according to Thai PBS. The cause of the deadly blaze was not immediately known, and investigators have launched a probe into the incident.
