US Central Command has completed its 12th consecutive night of strikes against Iranian military targets, targeting missile and drone storage facilities, coastal surveillance sites and air defence assets. The US has also resumed a naval blockade, redirecting commercial vessels from Iranian ports.
US Central Command has completed another round of strikes against Iranian military targets, marking the 12th consecutive night of operations. The strikes targeted Iran's maritime capabilities, missile and drone storage facilities, coastal surveillance sites and air defence assets, CENTCOM said in a statement.
Naval Blockade and US Posture
The US has also resumed a naval blockade against Iran, with American forces redirecting nine commercial vessels and disabling one to prevent ships from entering or departing Iranian ports. More than 50,000 US service members remain deployed across the Middle East and are "highly vigilant, focused, lethal, and ready," CENTCOM added.
Continued Exchanges
The strikes are part of an escalating campaign that has seen daily US attacks on Iranian targets. Tehran has responded with strikes on facilities and bases it says are used by the US military in several regional countries. The exchanges continue despite a Pakistan-brokered framework agreement signed in June intended to end the conflict.
