Eight countries, including Türkiye, condemn mass incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque

The foreign ministers of Türkiye, the UAE, Indonesia, Qatar, Egypt, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Jordan have strongly condemned the mass incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli settlers led by extremist Cabinet ministers. In a joint statement, they described the actions as "provocative and unacceptable" and a clear violation of international law and UN resolutions.

Violations and Provocations

The ministers condemned the raising of the Israeli flag within the mosque's courtyards, the establishment of tents by Israeli police and other provocative actions. They warned that such acts fuel hatred and extremism and undermine efforts for a just peace based on the two-state solution. They also reiterated that Israel has no sovereignty over occupied Jerusalem or its Muslim and Christian holy sites.

Call for International Action

The statement reaffirmed that the Al-Aqsa compound is an exclusive place of worship for Muslims and that the Jerusalem Awqaf Department is the sole legal authority responsible for the site. The ministers called on Israel to lift restrictions on access to Jerusalem's Old City and urged the international community to take a firm stance to halt violations against holy sites.
