Gaza's Health Ministry said Sunday that Israeli army fire killed nine more Palestinians in the last 24 hours, pushing the death toll since October 2023 past 73,300 while hospitals reported receiving 36 injured people and warned that many victims remain trapped under rubble unreachable by rescue crews.
Casualties mount
Gaza's Health Ministry announced on Sunday that Israeli military fire killed nine more Palestinians in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll since October 2023 to 73,326 as hospitals struggled to treat the influx of wounded. The ministry said in a statement that medical facilities received the bodies of nine victims, including seven people killed in fresh attacks and two who died from wounds sustained in earlier Israeli strikes.
Injuries and access crisis
Medical facilities admitted 36 injured people during the same period, bringing the total number of injuries to 173,997 since the war began, according to the ministry. Health officials noted that the actual death toll is likely higher as many victims remain buried beneath rubble or stranded on roads inaccessible to ambulances and civil defense crews.
Post-ceasefire attacks
Despite a ceasefire agreement that took effect on Oct. 10, 2025, the Israeli army has continued daily attacks across the Palestinian territory, killing at least 1,200 Palestinians and injuring 3,888 others since the truce began. The war that began in October 2023 has left the Gaza Strip in ruins, creating catastrophic conditions for the territory’s 2.4 million residents amid severe infrastructure destruction and blockade restrictions.
