Iran's Revolutionary Guard has claimed attacks on two military bases in Kuwait, stating it destroyed fuel tanks and air defence systems. The strikes occurred as the US Central Command announced it had completed a new wave of operations against Iranian targets, further escalating regional tensions.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed responsibility for strikes on two military bases in Kuwait, marking a significant escalation in the regional conflict. The IRGC stated it "completely destroyed" fuel tanks and Patriot air defence systems at Ali Al-Salem Air Base, as well as a strategic radar system at Ahmed Al-Jaber Air Base.

Casualties and Response

The attacks, described as part of an "eye-for-an-eye" operation, were carried out by the IRGC's aerospace forces. Kuwait's military confirmed that its air defence systems engaged "hostile aerial targets" inside the country's airspace, with explosions reported as interceptions occurred. The Kuwaiti General Staff urged the public to follow official safety instructions.

US Confirms Further Strikes

The Iranian announcement came shortly before the US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed it had concluded its latest wave of strikes against Iranian targets. CENTCOM stated the operation hit "dozens of targets at multiple locations with precision munitions," aimed at degrading Iran's ability to threaten maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. The US strikes were reportedly a direct response to Iran's continued attacks on commercial shipping.

Regional Fallout

Tensions have surged since the US launched its initial strikes on Iranian territory last week. Iran's recent attacks on US military facilities in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Jordan and Oman, alongside its closure of the Strait of Hormuz, signal an intensifying conflict. The violence threatens to destabilise the region, disrupt global oil supplies, and complicate diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the crisis.
