Iran vows 'superior' strike if US targets its infrastructure, warns on Hormuz

Iran has escalated its rhetoric against the United States, warning that any US attack on Iranian infrastructure would be met with the destruction of regional infrastructure. Military spokesman Ebrahim Zolfaghari of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters stated: "Destroy infrastructure, we will destroy whatever infrastructure remains in the region."

An 'Unbreakable Red Line'

Zolfaghari declared that Tehran "would under no circumstances allow the US, as a foreign and extra-regional country, to interfere in the Strait of Hormuz," describing this as "Iran's unbreakable red line." He added that Iran's response would be a "superior blow," not an equal one, and that any retaliation would be "more severe, wider and more destructive than ever."

Escalating Tensions Despite Diplomatic Efforts

The warning comes as the US and Iran exchange attacks in the Gulf region, with the Strait of Hormuz at the centre of the confrontation. Despite a Pakistani-mediated memorandum of understanding aimed at ending the conflict and reaching a lasting peace agreement, both sides have continued to carry out strikes, raising fears of a broader regional war.
