Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf said on social media that President Donald Trump wants to turn the "negotiation table into a surrender table." "We do not accept negotiations under threats," Qalibaf said.
Trump's warning
Trump had stated that the US delegation is going to Pakistan for negotiations and that an agreement will be signed in Islamabad. He said his only demand is for Iran to abandon its nuclear weapons ambitions. "If the ceasefire ends, bombs will start to explode," Trump warned.
Ceasefire expiration
The two-week US-Iran ceasefire mediated by Pakistan is set to expire on April 22. Trump has left the door open to renewed strikes if no deal is reached, while maintaining a naval blockade on Iranian ports. On Sunday, Trump announced that US forces seized an Iranian-flagged cargo ship after it attempted to break through the blockade.
