IRGC claims missile strike on Amazon data infrastructure in Bahrain

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said Tuesday its Aerospace Force struck central data infrastructure owned by the US company Amazon in Bahrain using several cruise missiles, the semi-official Tasnim News Agency reported.

Claimed strike on Amazon facility

The IRGC said in a statement that the infrastructure was destroyed in the attack. The strike was carried out by the force's Aerospace Force division using multiple cruise missiles, according to the Tasnim report.

Bahrain, the US and Amazon did not immediately comment on the claim, which could not be independently verified. No casualty figures or specific damage assessments were provided by the IRGC beyond the infrastructure claim.

Regional escalation

The US has escalated attacks against Iran in recent days, prompting retaliatory strikes targeting facilities and bases Iran says are used by the US military in several regional countries. The exchange of fire continues despite a Pakistan-brokered memorandum-of-understanding the two sides signed in June to end their war and reach a lasting peace agreement.
