A Palestinian was killed and two others wounded Saturday in an Israeli drone strike on a civilian vehicle west of the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, medical sources said, marking the latest casualties in ongoing ceasefire violations.
Attack Details
The victim's body and two wounded Palestinians were transported to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah following the strike near Al-Nuwairi Hill, according to medical sources. An Israeli drone fired at least four missiles at the vehicle and its surroundings, according to an Anadolu correspondent citing eyewitnesses. The first missile struck the vehicle as it passed the hill, while subsequent missiles targeted those attempting to flee and residents rushing to aid the wounded, witnesses said.
Ceasefire Violations
As of Saturday, Israeli ceasefire violations in Gaza have killed 1,098 Palestinians and injured 3,535 others, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. The ceasefire agreement has been in force in the Gaza Strip since last October, though persistent breaches have continued to claim civilian lives.
War Devastation
The war on Gaza has left more than 73,000 Palestinians dead and over 173,000 injured since Oct. 8, 2023, according to Palestinian figures. Israeli attacks have damaged or destroyed roughly 90% of the enclave's infrastructure, local authorities reported.
