A Shared Vision for the Future
Lavrov noted that the common understanding of international processes reaffirmed at the Russia-ASEAN summit in Kazan in June, along with the leaders' commitment to a "just and resilient" multipolar world order, would provide strong support for shared efforts. He also stressed the importance of strengthening a balanced security architecture in the Asia-Pacific and expanding comprehensive cooperation in Greater Eurasia.
Engaging with ASEAN
The Russian foreign minister's remarks came during a meeting with ASEAN Chair and Philippine Foreign Secretary Theresa Lazaro and ASEAN Secretary-General Kao Kim Hourn. Moscow has sought to deepen its engagement with Southeast Asia, viewing ASEAN as a key partner in its broader strategic vision for the region.
