Protesters demand ceasefire

Hundreds of demonstrators converged on Odenplan Square in central Stockholm on Saturday to denounce Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank, carrying Palestinian flags and banners demanding an immediate end to hostilities.

Marchers carried placards reading "There is a massacre in Palestine" and "There is genocide in Gaza," alongside banners demanding an "Immediate permanent ceasefire for Gaza," as participants waved Palestinian flags throughout the demonstration.

Israeli lawmaker warns of 'moral collapse'

Israeli Knesset member Ofer Cassif addressed the rally via video link, criticizing the government's policies toward Palestinians. He cited Israeli philosopher Yeshayahu Leibowitz, noting that the scholar had warned against elevating military power and territorial expansion above all else.

"Today, the mass destruction, dispossession and massacres suffered by Palestinians unfortunately demonstrate the accuracy of that warning," Cassif said, adding that Leibowitz cautioned such priorities could give rise to what he termed "Jewish Nazism."
