Syrian Interior Minister Anas Khattab announced Thursday that authorities have arrested the cell behind Tuesday's "terrorist bombings" in Damascus, confirming the detention in a statement carried by the official Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) while withholding specifics on the suspects or the operation.

Arrests confirmed

Khattab said in the statement that "The cell responsible for the terrorist bombings that targeted Damascus two days ago is now in our custody," according to SANA. He added that authorities will disclose "the identities of the cell members, their roles, and all of their affiliations" once investigations are completed, though he offered no information regarding the circumstances of the arrests.

The minister declined to provide further details about the suspects' backgrounds or the timing of the operation.
