US strikes hit multiple locations across southwestern and southern Iran, including a power station near the Bushehr nuclear plant, causing a temporary outage. Explosions were also reported in Ahvaz, Ramshir, Sirik and near Bandar Mahshahr.
US strikes hit multiple locations across southwestern and southern Iran early Thursday, including a power station near the Bushehr nuclear power plant. Iran's state television reported explosions in Ahvaz and Ramshir in Khuzestan province, as well as near Sirik in Hormozgan province.
Strikes on Infrastructure
The semi-official Tasnim News Agency reported explosions near Bandar Mahshahr, while Fars News Agency said two explosions were heard near Bushehr. Bushehr Governor Mohammad Mozaffari said a missile struck a power station near the nuclear plant, causing a power outage in a nearby village that lasted about two hours. Farming equipment in Dashti county was also struck, with no casualties reported.
The strikes came as US Central Command said operations would continue to degrade Iran's ability to threaten civilian mariners and commercial vessels. The US has carried out daily strikes across Iran since last week, with Tehran responding with attacks on facilities used by the US military in several regional countries. The exchanges continue despite a Pakistan-brokered framework agreement signed in June.
