Humanitarian response
The government has assisted 128,324 families and established 107 temporary camps currently housing 21,470 people, Rodriguez said, noting that approximately 18,000 individuals remain without permanent housing amid the ongoing recovery operations. Officials continue to assess the structural damage while providing emergency shelter to those displaced by the powerful tremors.
Structural damage and aftershocks
The earthquakes damaged 856 buildings throughout the country, including 190 structures that completely collapsed, according to the official report released by the National Assembly. Authorities have also recorded 1,350 aftershocks since the initial disasters struck the South American nation.
The twin tremors — registering magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5 — devastated Venezuela on June 24, leaving widespread destruction across multiple regions.
