A rift over Israel drives a wedge in the Trump camp...

It is expected that U.S. President Donald Trump and “Genocidaire Netanyahu” will meet in Florida on Monday. Within the Trump camp, the war between the “Israel Firsters” and the “America Firsters” continues. This battle is also closely tied to the question of who will be the Republican Party’s presidential nominee after Trump. Netanyahu, for his part, places great trust in the “Christian Zionists,” Israel’s legionaries in the United States. Earlier this month, Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs brought more than a thousand Christian Zionist pastors to Israel and assigned them “homework.” The event was held under the title “Friends of Zion Ambassadors Summit.”

“Evangelical Christian Zionists” see themselves as ambassadors of Israel. In his speech at the event, Netanyahu instructed the Christian Zionist pastors to defend Israel and Israel’s genocide when they returned to the United States. One of the organizers of the trip, Christian Zionist leader Michael Evans, said, “This is not a trip to Israel; this is a high-level briefing designed to enlist Evangelical pastors as partners in achieving the ultimate goal of the State of Israel.”

Jason Jones, host of “The Jason Jones Show” in the United States, wrote in an article dated December 16 titled “It’s Time for These Zionist ‘Pastors’ to Register as Foreign Agents” that the regulations applied to lobbies working for foreign countries should also be applied to the pastors traveling to Israel. Noting that these pastors serve Israel with passion, Jones said, “The 1,000 pastors enjoying free trips to Israel seemed unconcerned that Palestinian Christians living just minutes away cannot freely access their churches and other holy sites in Jerusalem without the permission of the Israeli army.”

Charlie Kirk, leader of the conservative youth organization “Turning Point USA (TPUSA),” was killed while speaking on a university campus last September. Kirk was known for his closeness to U.S. Vice President JD Vance and Tucker Carlson, figures associated with the “America Firsters.” TPUSA’s annual conference, “America Fest,” was held in Phoenix between December 17–20. This event was also a stage for the war between the “Israel Firsters” and the “America Firsters.”

In a speech at the event, Erika Kirk, who was appointed president of TPUSA, drew attention by saying, “We will make my husband’s friend JD Vance the 48th president as loudly as possible.” Pro-Israel radio host Ben Shapiro, meanwhile, launched frontal attacks on JD Vance’s close friend Tucker Carlson, as well as figures such as Steve Bannon, who served as White House Chief Strategist during Trump’s first term, and Candace Owens. These figures, followed by millions of young people, were among the most prominent opponents within the “Trump camp” of unconditional U.S. support for Israel.

Steve Bannon, who also spoke at the event, said that Shapiro was part of the “Israel Firsters.” Bannon pointed out that Israel wants to drag the United States into endless wars, including Syria, and said that Israel should fight its own wars itself.

In a speech greeted with applause, Carlson harshly criticized Christian Zionist pastors who justify the killing of innocent people in Gaza. U.S. Vice President JD Vance, meanwhile, delivered a speech that displeased circles that see any criticism of Israel as “antisemitism.” By saying that the conservative movement should be open to everyone as long as they love America, Vance took a neutral stance and infuriated the “Israel Firsters.”

Earlier this month, Tucker Carlson visited Palestinian children in Qatar who had lost limbs in Israeli attacks on Gaza. In his program featuring footage from the visit, Carlson criticized Israel. “Children with severed limbs, shattered faces, deformed bodies. The real crime is committed by those who support this brutality and try to justify it,” Carlson said.

During the trip to Israel, Michael Evans complained about Tucker Carlson to the Christian Zionist pastors, who then booed Carlson. Early last week, a tip-off group in the United States called “Stop Antisemitism” declared Carlson, who criticizes Israel’s genocide in Gaza, the “Antisemite of the Year.” All these developments show just how fierce the war between the “Israel Firsters” and the “America Firsters” within the “Republican Camp” has become.
