The Americans trying to appease genocidal Netanyahu!

It was clear from the start that genocidal Benjamin Netanyahu would seize the first opportunity to break the ceasefire with Hamas. Indeed, the Israeli army bombed several locations in Gaza, claiming that an Israeli tank had come under attack — killing dozens more Palestinians in the process. At the same time, Israel blocked humanitarian aid from entering Gaza, once again revealing its true face.
It later became evident that the incident occurred when an Israeli military vehicle hit an unexploded bomb. On October 19, Curt Mills, editor-in-chief of The American Conservative, shared on “X” that a senior Trump administration official had told him, “Hamas didn’t do anything. The Israeli tank probably hit an improvised explosive device that had been there for months.”
According to independent observers in the U.S., both the White House and the Pentagon know the explosion was caused by an Israeli vehicle driving over unexploded ordnance. However, senior Trump officials are unwilling to say so publicly.
This was not Israel’s first attack after the ceasefire. Just last week, Israel launched several strikes across Gaza. Exploiting the ceasefire, it killed civilians who were attempting to return to their homes in the north. Once again, Israel alone decides where the line is drawn. Another unconvincing excuse for violating the ceasefire was Hamas’s alleged failure — or inability — to return the bodies of Israeli captives killed in Israeli airstrikes.
Israel, using American bombs, has turned Gaza’s buildings into rubble — an estimated 70 million tons of debris. Beneath this rubble lie tens of thousands of bodies, including Israeli captives. Hamas does not have the equipment to retrieve them, and Israel, by blocking the entry of such equipment, uses the situation as an excuse.
On CBS News’ 60 Minutes, hosted by Lesley Stahl, Jared Kushner — Trump’s son-in-law and a key figure in negotiations with Hamas — said that Hamas was trying to abide by the agreement. Another guest, Trump’s Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, said both he and Kushner felt betrayed by Israel’s September 9 missile strike on Hamas’s negotiating team in Doha, Qatar — an attack that jeopardized Trump’s so-called “Gaza Peace Plan.”
Stahl also noted that Trump had forced Netanyahu to apologize to Qatar. Kushner and Witkoff immediately jumped in to insist it wasn’t “force,” a telling moment that showed how reluctant they were to admit Trump had leverage over Netanyahu.
Kushner described visiting an Israeli-occupied area in Gaza, saying, “It looked like a nuclear bomb had gone off there.” While acknowledging Gaza’s total destruction, he responded “No. No,” when Stahl asked if he would call it genocide. Visibly uncomfortable, Witkoff shifted in his seat and added, “Absolutely not. No, no — it was a war.”
Kushner accurately described Israel’s actions in Gaza but couldn’t bring himself to call it genocide. Witkoff went even further — calling it “a war,” despite more than 70,000 people, mostly women and children, being killed and over 170,000 severely injured in the narrow Gaza Strip. Both men’s desperate attempts to exonerate Netanyahu were impossible to miss.
Whether Israel abides by the ceasefire is entirely in Trump’s hands. Yet Trump is quick to say what he would do to Hamas if it violated the terms — but silent on what he would do to Israel. On the contrary, Trump and his administration seem intent on appeasing this bloodthirsty war criminal.
In 1938, Britain and France signed the Munich Agreement with Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy to appease Hitler — a policy that only emboldened him. Now, the U.S. and its Western allies are doing the same with Netanyahu, the man behind the 21st century’s genocide. This sinister appeasement only encourages Netanyahu to act with greater impunity. And yet, Israel’s very survival depends heavily on the U.S. If Trump fails to use America’s leverage over Israel, he risks sabotaging his own plan.
