Katmerciler delivers upgraded HIZIR armored vehicles to armed forces

Katmerciler has completed the first deliveries of its next-generation HIZIR 4x4 mine-resistant vehicles to the Turkish Armed Forces under a program by Türkiye's National Defense Ministry, integrating domestically developed defense systems designed to meet evolving operational requirements and strengthen export capabilities.
Deliveries to armed forces
Katmerciler has completed initial deliveries of its upgraded HIZIR 4x4 Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles to the Turkish Armed Forces, integrating domestically developed defense systems into the NATO-standard platform to meet evolving operational requirements. The first batch arrived under a National Defense Ministry procurement program that will see remaining units supplied by year-end, according to company officials.
Domestic integration
The latest HIZIR configuration features a three-door layout accommodating up to five personnel and is powered by a 400-horsepower engine capable of negotiating 70% gradients. Fully automatic transmission and user-friendly driving interfaces enhance maneuverability in rough terrain, while high levels of mine and ballistic protection shield occupants during missions.
Production activities are continuing at the company's facilities with the remaining deliveries under the project scheduled for completion by December. The vehicles are adapted for the most challenging geographical and climatic conditions encountered by Turkish troops in the field, Furkan Katmerci, the company's executive vice chairman, told Anadolu.

International markets
Katmerci stated that the integration of subsystems developed by Türkiye's domestic defense ecosystem demonstrates the level the country's engineering capabilities have attained. "While continuing to serve our armed forces with deliveries we aim to complete by the end of the year, we will also continue contributing to our country's export targets by taking this success to international markets," he said, adding that demand from friendly and allied countries continues to increase.
Strong international interest is generating new cooperation opportunities, with discussions ongoing across different regions. Katmerciler aims to sign new international contracts this year as part of its export-oriented growth strategy, leveraging the integrated domestic subsystems to demonstrate advanced engineering capabilities to potential overseas buyers.
