Dozens of disturbing, however unverified, videos have emerged purporting to show Chinese residents collapsing in the streets of the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak, raising fears about the impacts of the the pandemic.

The Chinese government has not made any official statement regarding the videos of people who suddenly collapsed on the roads, at hospitals, offices and school buildings.
In one of the shocking videos, a man who appears to be unresponsive can be seen lying on a pavement as ambulances arrive.
Another recording, which is being widely circulated on social media, shows a man in a face mask abruptly fainting and collapsing to the floor while others rush to help.

So far, the videos have not been independently verified.
The infectious disease has killed 81 people in China so far and infected more than 2,750 globally.
Wuhan, a city of 11 million people and capital of Hubei province, is in virtual lockdown and severe limits on movement are in place in several other Chinese cities. Much of Hubei, home to nearly 60 million people, is subject to some kind of travel restriction.
Last week the WHO stopped short of calling a global health emergency, but some health experts question whether China can contain the epidemic.
