US president links Democratic representative to her native Somalia, referencing case in which 8 individuals charged with allegedly stealing $8.4 million from Housing Stabilization Services program

US President Donald Trump criticized Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar on Thursday, linking her to her native country amid reports of a massive Medicaid-related fraud case in Minnesota.

“Does Ilhan Omar know these people? Are they from her wonderfully managed Home Country of Somalia?” Trump posted on his Truth Social platform, referencing a news story shared by the Libs of TikTok on the US social media company X’s platform reporting that eight individuals had been charged in a fraud scheme in Minnesota that allegedly resulted in over $8.4 million in stolen billings.

The accused include Moktar Hass Aden, Mustafa Dayib Ali, Khalid Ahmed Dayib, Abdifitah Mohamud Mohamed, Christopher Adesoji Falade, Emmanuel Oluwademilade Falade, Asad Ahmed Adow and Anwar Ahmed Adow.

The defendants are accused of orchestrating a massive wire fraud scheme targeting the state's Housing Stabilization Services program, a Medicaid-funded initiative designed to help vulnerable populations secure and maintain stable housing.

The defendants, operating through sham companies, allegedly billed the program for services they never provided, collectively stealing approximately $8.4 million in taxpayer dollars.

Trump followed up with a second Truth Social post sharply criticizing Omar’s record and Somalia’s conditions.

“Ilhan Omar’s Country of Somalia is plagued by a lack of central Government control, persistent Poverty, Hunger, Resurgent Terrorism, Piracy, decades of Civil War, Corruption, and pervasive Violence. 70% of the population lives in extreme Poverty, and widespread Food Insecurity,” he wrote.

“Somalia is consistently ranked among the World’s Most Corrupt Countries, including Bribery, Embezzlement, and a Dysfunctional Government. All of this, and Ilhan Omar tells us how to run America!

“P.S. Wasn’t she the one that married her brother in order to gain Citizenship??? What SCUM we have in our Country, telling us what to do, and how to do it. Thank you for your attention to this matter. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
