Turkey's new '1915 Çanakkale Bridge' towers over 300-meter Eiffel Tower
Turkey's newest bridge, the "1915 Çanakkale Bridge" which is currently under construction and will connect the European and Asian sides of the Çanakkale province, has reached 318 meters in height already, surpassing the world's famous landmark: the 300-meter Eiffel Tower, the symbol of French capital Paris. Cannonball figures symbolizing the Gallipoli Wars will be mounted on each side of the bridge, which will boast the honor of being "the world's largest medium-span suspension bridge" upon its completion.
