After receiving medals, 2 Georgian athletes sent to their country for doing city tour despite ban due to pandemic

Some interesting events and scenes have occurred during the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

Two silver medal winners at the Games, Georgia's Vazha Margvelashvili in men's 66-kg judo and Lasha Shavdatuashvili in men's 73-kg, were sent to their country for doing a city tour despite the ban due to the pandemic.

The Georgian athletes went to the city for sightseeing after the matches were over, reports said.

The athletes, who were banned from going to the city as part of COVID-19 measures, were sent back to their country for breaking the rules.

It is the first time that participants of the Olympics have been stripped of accreditation since the Games began on July 23, according to the organizing committee.
