Israeli army targets civilians’ homes, tents sheltering displaced Palestinians, according to local media

At least 17 civilians were killed and others injured in several Israeli strikes since early Thursday in the Gaza Strip, according to local media.

Medical sources told Anadolu that Israeli strikes targeted a residential apartment in the Al-Shati refugee camp in northwest Gaza City, killing three people and injuring others.

An elderly Palestinian and two women were killed and others wounded when Israeli warplanes struck a home in the Sheikh Ridwan neighborhood of northern Gaza City.

In the central Gaza Strip, four Palestinians, two of them children, were killed when the Israeli army targeted a residential apartment in the western Nuseirat refugee camp.

Five people were killed when the Israeli army shelled a house in Khan Younis, southern Gaza. The strike also sparked a fire in the site.

Israeli drones hit tents sheltering displaced Palestinians in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis, killing a woman and her child.

Israel has been facing mounting outrage over its destructive war on Gaza, where more than 61,100 people have been killed since October 2023. The military campaign has devastated the enclave and brought it to the verge of famine.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
