Police arrest attack suspect in Hengshan town of Lianjiang city in southern Guangdong province

At least six people were killed in an alleged knife attack on a kindergarten in China on Monday.

The incident took place in Hengshan town of Lianjiang city in southern Guangdong province, the daily South China Morning Post reported.

Lianjiang Public Security Bureau called the attack an “intentional assault case” and the police have arrested a 25-year-old suspect surnamed Wu.

He is said to have used a knife in the attack.

Authorities said the incident happened around 7:40 a.m. (2340GMT Sunday).
