Bear attack in eastern Turkey kills two, hurts two

Two escaped with injuries while two others die in the bear attack
A bear has mauled two people to death and injured two others in eastern Turkey, it was reported on Monday.
The casualties included three women and a child from the same family who were touring in a hilly area to pick up local herbs.
Officials said Devran Ekinci, 9, and Selma Güneş, 26, from western city of İzmir, were with two others -- Cansu Ekinci and Sevgi Erdem -- on an exploring trip in a village in the countryside of Kars city. They were reportedly in Kars to spend the Eid al-Fitr with their relatives.
The nine-year-old boy and the 26-year-old woman died on the spot just after falling down a cliff while running away from the bear.
The two -- Cansu Ekinci, 13, and Sevgi Erdem, 36, -- have remained stranded on a rocky hillside. Fire trucks, rescue and emergency crews rushed to the scene acting on a tip-off from shepperds who saw the bear attack.
The injured were flown to Hakkari where their condition is said to be stable while the victims were taken to a morgue at a town hospital for autopsies.
