Emine Erdoğan to Host Spouses of Leaders within the Scope of NATO Summit

The roundtable that Emine Erdoğan will hold with the spouses of leaders at Çankaya Mansion aims to raise awareness of the risks children may encounter in digital environments, to strengthen cooperation among stakeholders in this regard, and to share good practices from allied countries.
At the luncheon where she will meet the spouses of leaders, Emine Erdoğan will offer her guests the tastes of Turkish cuisine and introduce them a collection featuring traditional handicrafts.
Emine Erdoğan, the spouse of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, will meet with the spouses of Heads of State and Government arriving in Türkiye for the NATO Ankara Summit at a roundtable meeting entitled “Children, Technology and Security: Protecting the Next Generation.”
Emine Erdoğan will host the spouses of Heads of State and Government arriving in our country within the scope of the 36th NATO Summit of Heads of State and Government to be launched in Ankara in Çankaya Mansion on 8 July.
Emine Erdoğan will welcome more than twenty spouses of Heads of State and Government one by one upon their arrival at Çankaya Mansion.
Following the welcoming, Emine Erdoğan and the leader spouses will hold the roundtable meeting titled “Children, Technology and Security: Protecting the Next Generation.”
The meeting, organised on the margins of the NATO Ankara Summit, is expected to provide a platform for exchanges to strengthen joint efforts for the more effective protection of children against the dangers of the digital world.
The aim of the meeting is to raise awareness of the risks children may encounter in digital environments, to strengthen cooperation among stakeholders in this regard, and share good practices from allied countries.
The meeting also aims to underscore the importance of a rights-based and value-centred approach that does not overlook child development in shaping digital policies and practices, and to contribute to the development of balanced, prudent, and age-appropriate protection mechanisms.
At the meeting, where leader spouses will deliver remarks in turn, the themes to be addressed are “Digital Security and New Generation Risks,” “Protective and Age-Appropriate Approaches,” “Shared Responsibility and Multi-Stakeholder Cooperation,” “Awareness, Education and Digital Literacy,” “Ethical and Value-Based Approaches,” and “Sharing of Good Practices.”
Spouses of leaders will be acquainted with the flavours of the Turkish cuisine
Following the roundtable meeting, Emine Erdoğan will meet with the leader spouses at a luncheon.
The luncheon will closely acquaint the spouses of leaders with Turkish cuisine, with the meal featuring tastes reflecting Turkish gastronomy.
Spouses of leaders will enjoy their lunch in a hall adorned with İznik tiles and on tablecloths reflecting the tradition of Turkish embroidery.
In this respect, the luncheon will surpass the notion of a ceremonial table and will immerse the guests in the heritage of Turkish craftsmanship, art, and hospitality.
After the luncheon, Emine Erdoğan and the leader spouses will take a family photograph.
A close view of traditional handicraft products
Following the family photograph, First Lady Emine Erdoğan and the leader spouses will view a collection showcasing traditional handicrafts, woven fabrics, embroidery, and artisanal works reflecting the richness of Turkish weaving culture.
The leader spouses will also have the opportunity to closely observe pieces belonging to the visual memory of Mesopotamia, Anatolia, the Ottoman, and Turkish states.
