The Jordanian monarch’s official visit to Türkiye included private discussions followed by expanded delegation meetings, underscoring a mutual commitment to reinforced cooperation.
High-Level Engagement and Prestigious Honor
The meeting at Dolmabahce Palace brought together senior officials from both nations, including Türkiye’s defense and foreign ministers. In a notable diplomatic gesture, King Abdullah II presented President Erdogan with the Order of Al Hussein bin Ali, Jordan’s highest state honor. The Royal Hashemite Court stated the award recognized Erdogan’s efforts to strengthen the deep-rooted historical and diplomatic relations between the two countries.

President Erdogan stated the talks yielded “important decisions” designed to fortify the friendship between Ankara and Amman. He highlighted a shared vision with King Abdullah on ensuring peace, security, and stability in the region and expressed gratitude for Jordan’s role in protecting Islamic holy sites in Jerusalem. The discussions reportedly laid the groundwork for enhanced collaboration across several sectors, including trade, industry, transportation, education, and defense.
