President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will embark on a two-nation diplomatic tour next week, traveling to the United Arab Emirates on Monday and Ethiopia on Tuesday at the invitation of regional leaders. The Turkish leader is scheduled to meet with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi and Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali in Addis Ababa, with multiple agreements expected to be signed during both visits.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will undertake official visits to the United Arab Emirates and Ethiopia next week, the Presidency's Communications Director Burhanettin Duran announced Saturday. The diplomatic tour reflects Türkiye's continued engagement with both Gulf and African partners as Ankara seeks to strengthen bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors.

On Monday, the Turkish president will travel to Abu Dhabi for talks with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Their discussions are expected to center on concrete steps to deepen collaboration between the two nations, alongside comprehensive exchanges on regional developments and global matters of mutual concern. The meeting follows recent high-level diplomatic contacts, including Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan's visit to the UAE in January.

Agreements Ready for Signing

Tuesday will see President Erdoğan arrive in Addis Ababa at the invitation of Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali. The visit to the Horn of Africa nation underscores Türkiye's growing engagement with the African continent and its commitment to expanding partnerships with regional powers.

According to Duran's statement, both visits will feature the signing of several agreements and documents that have completed their negotiation phase. These accords are expected to formalize cooperation across various fields, giving institutional framework to the enhanced bilateral relationships Türkiye has been cultivating with both nations.

Strategic Regional Outreach

The back-to-back visits come amid Türkiye's active diplomatic calendar, demonstrating Ankara's multifaceted foreign policy approach that balances engagement in both the Gulf region and Africa. The UAE visit builds on improving ties between Ankara and Abu Dhabi in recent years, following a period of strained relations, while the Ethiopia trip reflects Türkiye's longstanding interest in strengthening presence and partnerships across the African continent.

Both meetings are expected to address not only bilateral matters but also regional security issues and international developments, positioning Türkiye as an active diplomatic player across multiple geographic spheres.
