Footage shows the Saudi hit team, allegedly responsible for the murder of Jamal Khashoggi, carrying bags believed to contain body parts of the slain journalist, Turkish reports say.
Shocking new footage shows members of the Saudi hit team which was sent to kill Jamal Khashoggi in their country’s Istanbul consulate carrying what is believed to be the slain journalist’s remains.
The leaked footage shows the arrival of some of the team’s members at the Saudi consul-general’s residence in Istanbul, just a few hundred meters from where the murder took place.
A hit team member can be seen in the video carrying large plastic bags believed to contain Khashoggi’s remains.
The bags were never again seen on tape or taken out from the consul-general’s residence.
Three months after the brutal murder, Khashoggi’s body has still not been found.
Khashoggi, a Saudi journalist and columnist for The Washington Post, went missing after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on Oct. 2.
The Saudi government has since then provided contrary statements on the murder, first denying it took place, then suggesting it was accidental and finally referring to it as a rogue operation.
Turkey has called for the extradition of the killers to stand trial in Turkey where the crime took place.
