Turkish agency TIKA supports robotics olympiad for Kyrgyz youth
Approximately 400 students participated in Kyrgyzstan's National STEM Robotics Olympiad, supported by Türkiye's TIKA agency. The event in Bishkek brought together young talents from schools across the country, highlighting growing Turkish-Kyrgyz cooperation in education and technology development.
The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) has provided support for the second National STEM Robotics Olympiad held in Kyrgyzstan's capital, bringing together hundreds of young students interested in technology and engineering. The competition, organized by the Kyrgyz Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Innovation, attracted approximately 400 participants aged 7 to 14 to the Gazprom Sports Complex in Bishkek.
Strengthening Educational Ties Between Nations
Turkish diplomatic and educational officials joined Kyrgyz government representatives at the event, underscoring the importance both nations place on science and technology education. "Education in Kyrgyzstan is our priority. Here, we see the scientists and engineers of the future," stated Kursat Dulkadir, education counselor at the Turkish Embassy in Bishkek. He conveyed Türkiye's congratulations to all participating students and emphasized the value of educational cooperation between the two Turkic nations.
Growing Interest in Robotics and Innovation
Kyrgyz Deputy Minister of Science, Higher Education and Innovation Aibek Chotonov noted the rapidly expanding interest in robotics among children throughout Kyrgyzstan. TIKA Coordinator Mehmet Bodur reaffirmed the agency's commitment to supporting young talents "who will build the shared future of Türkiye and Kyrgyzstan," highlighting the long-term strategic importance of educational investments.
Broad Participation from Turkish-Supported Institutions
The olympiad featured participants from numerous educational institutions with Turkish connections, including the Science Bishkek Innovation Center established by TIKA, the Bishkek Kyrgyz-Turkish Anatolian High School affiliated with Türkiye's Ministry of National Education, and schools operated by the Turkish Maarif Foundation. They were joined by students from 41 schools affiliated with the Kyrgyz Ministry of Science, demonstrating the wide reach of Turkish educational support in Central Asia.
