Turkish family hosts President Erdoğan for iftar dinner in Ankara

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and First Lady Emine Erdoğan were the guests of honor at a traditional iftar hosted by a family in Ankara.

They arrived at the Sargın family household after attending an event at the ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party General Headquarters in the capital.

Seated around a traditional floor table before breaking the Ramadan fast, Erdoğan chatted with family members and took a commemorative photo with them, which was later shared on the president’s social media accounts.

Ramadan is holiest month in the Islamic calendar. At sunset, Muslims gather for “Iftar,” the fast-breaking meal of the day. Charity is a very important part of Islam and is even more significant during Ramadan when Muslims are reminded to be generous and to increase their charitable activities.
