Turkish president congratulates Anadolu on its 105th anniversary

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday congratulated Anadolu on its 105th anniversary, praising its role as a key institution in Turkish media and its contributions to representing Türkiye internationally.
In a message to Anadolu President and CEO Serdar Karagoz, Erdogan said the agency has become “the voice of Türkiye” and “earned a distinguished place in Turkish media history.”
“Since the day it was founded, Anadolu has never strayed from its commitment to impartial and trustworthy journalism. It has continued to provide accurate information in all circumstances and become a source of pride for journalism in both Türkiye and the world,” Erdogan said.
He also noted Anadolu's ability to adapt to new technologies and reach a global audience with rich content and comprehensive coverage.
“Anadolu, one of Türkiye's most respected institutions, continues to expand its influence by effectively using the opportunities offered by digitalization and modern technology,” he added.
The Turkish president extended his gratitude to all Anadolu employees for their dedication and commitment to truth and commemorated the agency's founders, including Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of modern Türkiye.

Anadolu celebrates its 105th anniversary on Sunday, April 6, commemorating more than a century of journalism since its founding in 1920 during the Turkish War of Independence.
Launched under difficult wartime conditions, Anadolu distributed its first news bulletin on April 12, 1920, with the mission of informing the public and safeguarding national unity.
