Turkish vice president celebrates Republic Day with Turkish Cypriots

Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz has participated in official ceremonies marking the 42nd anniversary of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus's founding, attending a parliamentary reception in honor of Republic Day. Representing President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Yılmaz emphasized the historical significance of the TRNC's establishment and the enduring partnership between Türkiye and Turkish Cypriots.

During the celebrations, the vice president paid solemn tribute to TRNC founding leaders Rauf Denktaş and Fazıl Küçük, acknowledging their pivotal roles in establishing the Turkish Cypriot state. Yılmaz also honored the memory of martyrs and veterans who participated in the 1974 Cyprus Peace Operation, recognizing their sacrifices in securing Turkish Cypriot rights and sovereignty on the island.
