Coup Plotters in Niger stage display of power with 30,000 people at stadium
After the coup on July 26th in Niger, tens of thousands of people, seeking to demonstrate their support for the junta, filled the country's largest stadium. In Niamey, supporters of the coup gathered at the General Seyni Kountche Stadium in response to the call of the National Committee fort he Salvation of the People (CNSP), just hours before the expiration of the deadline given by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) for the junta.
