World's oldest smiley emoji receives thousands of visitors in SE Turkey

A pot vase believed to be decorated with the world’s oldest smiley face has received more than 10,000 visitors in just a month at the Gaziantep Archeology Museum in southeastern Turkey. The cheery icon was unearthed during excavations conducted along Turkey’s border with Syria in 2017.
