Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev held talks with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar in Baku on Monday, focusing on enhancing economic ties and finalizing plans for an upcoming joint business forum.

Focus on Economic Cooperation and Forum Plans

According to a statement from the Azerbaijani presidential press service, the meeting centered on preparations for the Azerbaijani-Israeli business forum. The officials expressed satisfaction with the recent meeting between the presidents of Azerbaijan and Israel on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. They noted the successful development of bilateral relations across multiple sectors, including trade, energy, and tourism.

Business Delegation and Bilateral Commendations

Foreign Minister Saar, who was accompanied by a delegation of major business representatives, emphasized that the planned forum would significantly contribute to strengthening trade and economic links between the two nations. Both sides commended the work of the intergovernmental commission in fostering the relationship. Saar also thanked President Aliyev for the state-level care provided to the Jewish community in Azerbaijan.
