British, German NGOs tagging refugees on Syrian border

These NGOs are sponsoring suspicious activities in sensitive areas near the Turkish - Syrian border, as they are profiling refugees and collecting demographic data

Scores of British and German non-government organizations, that proclaimed to be helping Syrian refugees in Turkey's border city, are actually tagging them and doing illegal profiling work under the guise of humanitarian aid.

The NGOs, which obtained registration under the supervision of Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETÖ)-affiliated officers in the Turkish immigration authority, collected data on Syrians and are profiling them.

The officials who allowed this organization to operate their activities in the southeastern provinces were reportedly dismissed form their duty under the FETÖ investigation.

The report said that the NGOs appointed different persons to their office than whom were approved by Turkish authority.

Some of this employees gather Syrians in their camps, note their religious and political views, promise them to provide humanitarian goods and collect their identity cards.

Though the Association for Solidarity with Asylum Seekers and Migrants (SGDD-ASAM) is leading these illegal activities, several more NGOs are also carrying out filing work to collect data for the same purpose.

SGDD-ASAM is the implementing partner of UNHCR's Turkey office and have the authority to collect and distribute aids.

Some UNHCR employees are living in the Ankara office of the SGDD-ASAM.

However, other NGOs like Concern, Worldwide and MSF are operating in the Akçakale district of the border province of Şanlıurfa.

The German for World Hunger Aid, which had established a structure in Syria named WHH, is working the sensitive areas along Turkey-Syria border.

The organization delivers its date to the German embassy in Ankara routinely.
