China prepares to launch Shenzhou-21 crewed space mission

China has moved the Shenzhou-21 spacecraft and its Long March-2F rocket to the launch area, with the crewed mission scheduled for liftoff in the near future. The announcement follows China's recent successful satellite launch using a Long March-5 rocket.
China has announced preparations for the imminent launch of its Shenzhou-21 crewed spacecraft, marking the latest milestone in the country's ambitious space program. The China Manned Space Agency confirmed Friday that both the spacecraft and its Long March-2F carrier rocket have been transferred to the launch area, with all systems reported in optimal condition for the upcoming mission.
Launch Preparations Underway
According to state media reports, the space agency has initiated comprehensive pre-launch function checks and confirmed that all facilities and equipment are operating properly. While the CMSA did not specify an exact launch date, officials indicated the mission would proceed "at an appropriate time in the near future," following standard protocols for China's human spaceflight operations.
Recent Space Program Achievements
The Shenzhou-21 mission continues China's steady progress in space exploration, following April's successful Shenzhou-20 mission that docked with the Tiangong space station. China's space program maintains a busy launch schedule, having completed 602 missions within its Long March carrier rocket series since the program's inception.
Concurrent Satellite Deployment
The crewed mission announcement followed Thursday's successful launch of a communication technology test satellite aboard a Long March-5 rocket from the Wenchang Space Launch Site in Hainan Province. That satellite has entered its planned orbit and will conduct multi-band, high-speed communication technology validation tests, demonstrating China's parallel advancement in both human spaceflight and satellite telecommunications capabilities.
