A large explosion in a metro station has wounded 4 people in Russia's capital of Moscow

A large explosion has occurred at a metro station in Russia's capital, Moscow.

Eyewitnesses have reported that the flames were visible from the street.

According to TASS Russian News Agency, the explosion was a result of gas entrapment.

Initial reports indicate that four people have been wounded, two of whom were working at the station.

The metro station was closed due to renovations, preventing a large-scale disaster.

Ambulances and fire trucks were deployed to the explosion site. Security forces have formed a blockade around the site.
