Gaza authorities report 357 Palestinians killed since ceasefire began

Palestinian authorities report that 357 Palestinians have been killed and 903 injured in Israeli attacks since the October 10 ceasefire took effect. Gaza's Government Media Office documented 591 ceasefire violations, including direct gunfire at civilians, bombardments, and home demolitions. The office called on international mediators and the UN Security Council to enforce compliance with the truce agreement.
Gaza health authorities reported Sunday that 357 Palestinians have been killed and 903 others wounded in Israeli military operations since a ceasefire agreement took effect on October 10. The majority of casualties were women and children according to the Gaza Government Media Office, which accused Israel of repeatedly violating the truce.
Ceasefire violations documented
The media office's statement detailed 591 documented violations of the ceasefire agreement since it began. These incidents included direct gunfire targeting civilians and their residences, aerial bombardments, residential demolitions, and the arbitrary detention of 38 Palestinians by Israeli forces. Officials characterized these actions as evidence of Israel's "insistence on undermining the agreement" and creating dangerous conditions threatening Gaza's stability.
International law violations
The repeated attacks despite the ceasefire constitute "systematic crimes intended to expand destruction and collectively punish the population," the statement asserted. Palestinian authorities described these actions as amounting to "grave breaches of the Geneva Conventions." The media office emphasized that the ongoing violence demonstrates Israel's disregard for the ceasefire terms negotiated by international mediators.
Appeal for international action
Gaza officials called upon US President Donald Trump, ceasefire mediators including Türkiye, Egypt, and Qatar, and the UN Security Council to take effective measures halting Israeli attacks and ensuring full compliance with the agreement. The ceasefire had been established to halt two years of war that killed over 70,000 people, mostly women and children, and injured more than 170,000 others since October 2023. The agreement's initial phase includes hostage-prisoner exchanges and outlines reconstruction plans for Gaza under a new governing structure.
