Gaza drone strike kills two, marking latest post-ceasefire violation

Israeli forces conducted a drone strike in central Gaza on Tuesday, killing two Palestinians, medical sources report. The attack near Deir al-Balah is described as another violation of the ceasefire agreement that halted major hostilities in October.
A drone strike in the central Gaza Strip killed two Palestinians on Tuesday, marking another reported breach of the ceasefire agreement that took effect last October. Medical sources confirmed the fatalities, stating the victims were targeted while riding an electric bike near al-Masdar village.
Victims Taken to Local Hospital
Following the strike, the bodies of the two individuals were transported to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah. The attack represents a continuation of isolated but deadly military actions in the territory since the broader ceasefire halted Israel's two-year military campaign.
Ceasefire Context and Casualty Toll
The ceasefire agreement, which came into force on October 10, ended a war that had resulted in over 72,000 Palestinian fatalities and more than 171,000 injuries since October 2023, according to local health authorities. However, violence has persisted at a reduced level. Gaza's Health Ministry reports that at least 581 Palestinians have been killed and over 1,553 injured in various Israeli attacks since the truce began.
