Gaza Reports 106 Palestinians Killed Amid Ongoing Israeli Strikes

The Gaza Government Media Office has reported that Israeli military operations have resulted in 106 Palestinian fatalities during a 72-hour period, despite continuing diplomatic efforts to secure a ceasefire. According to the office's Monday statement, 143 separate Israeli artillery and airstrikes targeted civilian areas throughout the coastal territory.

The government statement detailed that the majority of casualties occurred in densely populated residential zones, with 65 of the reported deaths taking place in Gaza City alone. The attacks come amid ongoing indirect negotiations between Israeli and Hamas delegations in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, discussing US President Donald Trump's 20-point peace proposal.

The Gaza government condemned what it described as Israel's "disregard to all international calls for peace," noting the continued violence despite President Trump's Saturday appeal for Israel to "stop bombing Gaza immediately." The statement emphasized that the ongoing military operations demonstrate persistent refusal to heed international demands for de-escalation.

Palestinian authorities called upon the United States and global community "to take serious, effective, and urgent action to stop the aggression" and ensure a genuine cessation of hostilities. The appeal comes as the death toll since October 2023 has surpassed 67,100 Palestinians, with the conflict creating mass displacement, widespread starvation, and disease outbreaks throughout the devastated enclave.
